जिस बच्ची को माँ का आंचल और पिता का प्यार नहीं मिला उसे पुलिसकर्मियों ने ही सालों पहले गोद लिया और एक परिवार के हाथों उसे सौंपकर उसका खर्च भी उठाया. अब जब बच्ची बड़ी हो गई और उसकी शादी होने जा रही है तो भला पुलिसकर्मी कहा पीछे रहने वाले थे. उन्होंने ने भी गुड़िया की शादी में शरीक होकर धूमधाम से बिटिया में मायरा भर सामाजिक सरोकार निभाया. जयपुर की सांभरलेक पुलिस को 17 साल पहले झाड़ियों में लावारिस मिली 4 साल की मासूम गुड़िया के हाथों में मेंहदी रची देख पुलिसकर्मियों की आंख झलक गई. 

सांभरलेक थाना पुलिस पूरे लवाजमे के साथ गोद ली गई बेटी ‘देगी’ के घर पहुंचा तो ढ़ोल नगाड़ों के साथ उनका जोरदार स्वागत-सत्कार हुआ. फिर डीएसपी लक्ष्मी सुथार ने सबसे पहले देगी का तिलक कर उसको चुनरी ओढ़ाई तो बिटिया के साथ-साथ सबकी आँखे भर आई. इसके बाद साथी पुलिसकर्मियों ने 51 हजार रुपए नगद और सोने-चांदी के आभूषण भेंट कर मायरे की रश्मे निभाई. कड़क वर्दी वाली पुलिस का ऐसा व्यवहार देख हर कोई उनकी तारीफ में कसीदे पढ़ने ंखें
